New Macbooks Are In!

Buy New Macbook

Precision aluminum unibody enclosure.
Machined from a solid piece of aluminum, the new MacBook not only looks stunning, it's also thinner, lighter, greener, and more powerful than ever.

LED-backlit display.
The ultrathin 1280-by-800-pixel LED-backlit display shows off your digital media perfectly. And it's as easy on the environment as it is on the eyes: The gorgeous glass and aluminum enclosure is arsenic- and mercury-free, and LED technology makes it more power efficient.

Advanced NVIDIA integrated graphics.
Experience the most powerful MacBook graphics ever. With a new NVIDIA GeForce 9400M processor, the new MacBook delivers up to 5x more graphics performance, so you can immerse yourself in lifelike 3D games.

Gone are the white and black, plastic chassis which covered the old Macbooks. In are the new aluminum "unibody" enclosures that are the signature mark for a new chapter in the Macbook product line. Apple has unveiled a new production process that basically uses lasers to cut out from a block of aluminum a chassis for the Macbook. The innovative design resulting from this process has several benefits. First, the Macbooks are slimmer and lighter. There are less screws and components needed to hold things in place. Second, the Macbooks are stronger because there are fewer seams that can compromise the structural integrity of the notebook. And third, the new Macbooks are more aesthetically pleasing, offering a very clean look and feel.

Aside from the aluminum unibody chassis, the new Macbook is also packed with hardware upgrades. Included are the latest Intel processors and Nvidia graphic units. One will also find a stunning LED-backlit display that boots up faster and with brighter colors.

October 12,2008 Entry

The Fall 2008 season is here and along with it we've noticed an atmosphere of change. The air is a little crisper, the weather's a little colder and the sun's setting a bit earlier. Students are returning back to school, Halloween's just right around the corner, and soon we'll find ourselves back celebrating holiday festivities.

One celebration which the Apple Mac community is eagerly anticipating for is the October 14, 2008 announcement of a new line of Macbooks. This change has been long overdue and the event is expected to garner much excitement. Blogs and forums have been speculating on what new features will be found in the new notebooks. People have even conjured up mock images of what they may look like. But of course, with Apple being as secretive as it has in the past, not much information has been released concerning this new product line change. They have left it to our imaginations and we can only wait and countdown the days till the official announcement and release.

Here are some consensus thoughts about what the new Apple Macbooks would include:
  1. An aluminum casing. The old plastic chassis are out of date. It wouldn't be too much of a surprise for Apple to continue with its aluminum motif, found on current Macbook Pros and Macbook Airs.

  2. A thinner and sleeker look on the Macbooks. Aesthetics have always been an important component of the Macbook family. The last release, the Macbook Airs, certainly fit this bill nicely. Expect something similar but not completely to the Macbook Air's chassis. More rounded corners.

  3. An option for a SSD would be nice. You want a thinner notebook, then go with a SSD hard drive. They are become more cost effective now a days.

  4. Some have desired a multi-touch glass track pad. While this may sound delightful, it's really a novelty and there's not much practicality for this feature at the moment.

  5. A bigger and better screen. Speculation is that it'll come with 16:9 screens. The Macbooks themselves might expand to 14 inch or even 15.6 inch displays.

  6. More RAM. Memory's always a good thing, more of it won't hurt.

  7. There's also been talk that Apple might switch over to a new chipset. That doesn't mean no more Core 2 Duos. But rather instead of an Intel chipset driving the computer functions, perhaps an Nvidia chipset? Speculation. We all know that Apple hasn't been too content with the current chipset and its effect on batter consumption, and moving over to Nvidia might just be an interesting move.

Here are some mock ups and possibly leaks we found on the internet.
